Cleanings and polishing with a hygienist you'll see again
A preventative visit here starts with cleaning and polishing done by one of the practice's hygienists, Shelly, Danica or Sissy, each of whom has been with Buckley Dental Care for years. Seeing the same hygienist visit after visit means less time spent re-explaining your history and more time actually getting your teeth clean.
Patients notice the difference: one recent visitor wrote that hygienist Sissy was 'so nice, good at her job and absolutely painless,' and that her teeth felt expertly cleaned afterward. That kind of consistency is really the point of sticking with preventative care, instead of only calling the office when something already hurts.

Digital X-rays and a VELscope screening
Exams here include low-radiation digital X-rays, which use a fraction of the radiation of older film X-rays and give Dr. Chaudhry a clear look at what's happening below the gumline, between teeth and under old fillings. Because the images are digital, he can pull them up right there and walk you through anything worth watching.
Preventative visits also include a VELscope screening, a light-based check used to screen for oral cancer, right here in the same appointment. It's quick, done as part of a regular exam rather than a separate visit, and it's one more way a routine checkup catches something early instead of missing it entirely.
Chapter 03
Sealants and mouth guards that head off problems
Dental sealants are a thin protective coating painted onto the chewing surfaces of back teeth, the ones with deep grooves where a toothbrush has the hardest time reaching. They're a straightforward way to keep decay from ever starting in a spot that's genuinely hard to keep clean on your own, and they're offered here as part of preventative care.
